Homework Due on Oct 26th, 2014

As-sallamu alaikum,Homework due on Sunday, October 26 is:

  • Mercy to Mankind: Workbook Lesson 6/ Read Lesson 7
  • We Are Muslims: Workbook 6/ Read lesson 7

It is also time to start thinking and working on the first submission for the ISS newsletter, Al-Bayyan and it is due on November 9. Today, teacher Hanan came to our class to explain to the students about Al-Bayyan. So the students are going to turn in two entries during different semesters, and both entries are going to be graded as part of their homework assignment/project. The first semester’s submission will be part of the Islamic Studies Homework, and the second semester’s submission which is not due until mid February is going be part of Teacher Azza’ s homework. All the entries/articles will be reviewed by teacher Hanan, and the best few will be published in the newsletter.

The students are going to turn in their articles [either soft or hard copy] to me by November 9, and it will be worth 25 points. In terms of the length of articles Al-Bayyan team recommends minimum 3 – 4 paragraphs with 300 – 350 words.

These are the categories & topics students can write about. They can come up with their own topic as well.

  • Islamic Moral & Manners
  • How can we be better Muslims
  • Reflection on a favorite verse from the Quran/hadith
  • Reflection on a favorite story of any prophet
  • We Love Islam (and why)
  • Five Pillars
  • Faith & Worship

Please note that your child’s article must be their own work and must be at a level appropriate to their age; make sure that they don’t copy and paste from the internet.
