There has been a misunderstanding in last homework. I needed the kids to circle all the rules ( ahkam ) we learned and write on top of them the name of the rule.
For example: circle the ق and write hard on top of it.
Please refer to our last HW and redo page 70 and 71 and read them 5 times each.

•From our read and write book, please do page 53.

•Make sure to read Surat al Ikhlas from our short surah book. Cover the explanation of the ayat. We’ll have the test on 2.28.16 Inshalla.

•Spelling words are:
الإخلاص ، كفوا ، يولد .

•we started Surat al Ikhlas.
Please read the story again at home.
•read and write page 52.
• from our purple book, read page 70, 71 five times each.
Find out the following:
Hard letters, qalqala, strong hand, lam shamsiyah, lam qamariyah, hard raa and soft raa.
• a separate sheet will be given to the kids in the class to find out the same “ahkam or rules” they did for the HW.
The sheet will be made up from random sentences we read before from our book.
•spelling words are:
الله ، أحد ، الصّمد ، التّوحيد.
• PLEASE do not help your kids to read if you don’t pronounce the letters right. For example, I can clearly hear the american accent in the soft letters. They say “lam” for example as hard lam and so is the kaaf and dahl and many other letters.
.• if you as a parent need help reading, I’m usually at school during the break and I can help you.

This is the HW due 1.10.15:-

• read page 58,59,60 from our purple book five times each. Understand the difference between lam shamsiyah and lam qamariyah.
• read and write page 49.
• we started Surat al Fatiha.
Read the story of it and practice memorizing the surat applying the tajweed rules we learned.
• the kids liked practicing spelling. Inshalla we will do words from page 11 from our purple book.
Please take spelling more serious. It helps the kids greatly.
Make practicing spelling in a fun way. Use a small white board ( from the $1 store) and try asking your kid to write words through out the day.

1. Read page 50,51,52 five times each. Find out all the rules we learned so far. ( hard letters, qalqala, hams, hard raa, soft raa, letters with shaddah).
Just a friendly reminder that the kids are graded on their reading weekly.
2. Write page 48 from the read and write book.
3. Keep practicing the outgoing dua’a. You’ll find it in the middle of the dua’a book.
4. We started a spelling game today. The kids did a good job mashalla. Next meeting, we’ll practice more words from page #10 from our purple book. I’ll give each kid a white board to write on it Inshalla.

1. Read page 41,42,43 five times each. Circle qalqala letters BLUE and underline the strongest hams using your pencil.

2. Write page 46 from the read and write book.
3. Read and memorize the outgoing dua’a. You’ll find it in the middle of the dua’a book.

Homework Due on Dec 6th, 2015

We finished Surat al-Mauoon and Inshalla we’ll have a test onSunday 11.22.15.

Test questions will be similar to our previous tests.

Please remind your kids to bring back Quraish test signed.

No HW other than the test.

1. Read and write page 39.
2. Read page 18 from the purple book at least five times. Circle the qalqala letters using a blue colored pencil please. Underline the hams letters using a regular pencil.
3. Spelling: please practice writing your name in Arabic ( some kids still don’t know) and these two words:
فَكانَتْ، حُشِرَتْ

Please follow the color order we use as they will help us to read the Quran inshalla.

Please make sure that your kids come to school with all their books, a pencil or two and an eraser.

• Reading test page 28 and 29.
Kids are expected to read fluently and to be able to point out hams, qalqala, hard letters and hard raa and soft raa. • Read and write page 43.
• We started Surat al ma’oon.
Memorize the first three ayas.

Test in Surat Quraish.
The test questions will be similar to those we took in the first test ( Surat al Kafiroon). • read page 25,26,27 five times each or until you master reading them. • read and write page 42.
• Don’t forget to sign all your HW.
• bring your school supply for the test.
• no spelling this time but your own names.
