Homework Due on Jan 17th, 2016

Assalamo alikum Parents and students,
We are still focusing on practicing reading of the words and how to recognize the letters when they are in the middle of the word (connected). We use the method called Baghdadia which was used centuries ago in Baghdad. It is very similar to phonics in english.

So, We’re focusing on the Fatha such as (بَ) : and sample word of three letters with fatha such as بَعَثَ. Once the students master recognizing the letters and are capable of reading a word with three letters it will then be very quick and easy to move on to the other signs of tashkeel ( kasra and Dhama such as بِ بُ).

The homework for this week is:
Read fluently pages 31, 32 (book; Easy Steps To Quraan Recitation)
Spelling: The difference between خ غ the words of spelling are خَلَبَ ، غَلَبَ page 27 (book; Easy Steps To Quraan Recitation).

Memorize Ayah 1,2,3,4 Surat El-Massad.
This Surat is easy to read; it has a lot of words with three letters such as كَسَبَ لَهَب مَسَد / read the letters and words specially with Fatha.

Report Card:Many parents asked me about last semester report cards. There were two report cards sent to each student.
The report card with letter grade is from Islamic studies.
The second report card with percentage and specific recommendation where students need help is my report cards ( Quranic studies).

Thanks
Azra
